The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) on July 15, 2026, issued a notification regarding the date of establishment and the date till which the Indian standard such as Microbiology of the Food Chain, without the amendment as mentioned, shall remain in force.
The following has been stated: -
•IS 17113 (Part 3): 2022 ISO 16140-3: 2021 Microbiology of the Food Chain — Method Validation Part 3 Protocol for the Verification of Reference Methods and Validated Alternative Methods in a Single Laboratory.
•IS 17113 (Part 4): 2022 ISO 16140-4: 2020 Microbiology of the Food Chain — Method Validation Part 4 Protocol for Method Validation in a Single Laboratory.
•IS 18564 (Part 1): 2024 ISO 10272-1: 2017 Microbiology of the Food Chain — Horizontal Method for Detection and Enumeration of Campylobacter spp. Part 1 Detection Method.
The date of Establishment is July 03, 2026, and the date till which the Indian standard without the amendment as mentioned shall remain in force is January 02, 2027.
